FAT Concept consultation

We had a consultation meeting with Margit and the 3D Herman.

They really liked our concept, and they had some constructive feedback.

Feedback:
The essence of the concept is making sound or music with the planets of Enschede.
It has a lot of  commercial potential and ideas that we can connect.
The Planets and the parabolic visuals are strong point of this concept, it really shows Enschede in a very unique and attractive perspective.
Just making those planets would be good enough for a marketing strategy.
The drum pads and music making is a cool idea, but doesn’t really connect with the planets. We need to think more about interaction and interface.
There is no relationship with the planets and the music.
Start a new brainstorm from a different perspective, “how can we make interaction with the planets cool”.
Forget about the music aspect, elaborate on the planets.

Looking at this feedback we need to look more into the interaction. We aren’t going to ditch the music aspect, but we are going to do another brainstorm session and look more into how we are connecting the planets with sound.

Detailed concept

We showed the team today what we did with Oyvind.

We have to change the moodboard font and discuss what will be the best. We think the best will be similar to the font that has a store and relies to the 70’s.

Thom and Vasil want to go to the store today to convince the seller to work with us.

Unfortunately, it turned out that today it is closed and Thom will write an email to the store and arrange an meeting with him.

We were also talking about our concept. we made a sketch of our installation and we were wondering about the details of our project.

The final version of the moodboard looks like this:

Tomorrow we have a meeting with teachers who will give an opinion on our idea.

Moodboard

Today I met with Oyvind to create a moodboard. Earlier, I prepared a number of pictures and that we could use to create it.
Our theme is planet, music, space and classic rock, so I think the theme of astrounaut, space and psychedelic colors is right.

I also made a background for our blog, which captures the mood of our project and music store so you can see it as a blog background which is at the top.

Here’s our moodboard:

The Beginning

The first week has mostly been an introduction to the team members and delving into the project.

Team members and their roles:

Andrei Burdeti – 3D VFX

Jay-Cee Klees – Animation, Concepting

Vasil Hristov – 3D modeling, VFX

Thom Markies – Storytelling, Graphic design

Oyvind Knustad – Video Production, Storytelling

I want to do programming, but I would also like to play other roles related to graphics and physical installation creation.

I’m very happy that I’m in this group because people are very nice and open, and the idea for a project is something that is “made for me”.

We met several times in class and after classes to discuss our plan in more detail but also our roles, share responsibilities and plan the next week.

There was also a brainstorm in which we were talking about our ideas, and then we chose the most interesting and most suitable ones.

Ultimately, we decided on one idea related to the music and the store “Planet of Sound” with which we want to cooperate.

Today we had consultations with teachers, we talked about our ideas and they helped us with the choice. They also had their opinions and concerns that were helpful.

We had some ideas for our project, but after consulting with the teachers we decided on one, concrete one.
