Gathering information about potential sponsors

For this task I looked at our building materials and what kind of stores can give us those materials as a project sponsor.
This is the list I came up with.

For a dome we can get multiple different things.
A lot of them have square footprints, but some of them have circular footprints.
There are domes for sale that people use as windows in their roof.

Retrospection

The most important things who came forward with our retrospection were:

What went well?

  • The atmosphere in the group
  • Open discussion
  • Fulfilling to do’s
  • Progress we made

What could go better?

  • Communication
  • Being on time
  • Planning
  • Focusing during the daily standups
  • Our knowledge

What do we want to change?

  • Be on time
  • Pay attention to each other
  • Work hard, stop procrastinating and stay motivated

How are we going to achieve it?

  • We have to be motivated and don’t postpone tasks for the last moment.
  • We must be on time and try to be punctual, and if we can’t make it, we write about it at the Discord.
  • With communication with each other, we have to be sure that everybody is paying attention and afterward ask everybody to confirm that they understood it.
    Indicate each other on our responsibilities, show initiative, look which tasks are under your responsibility and take care of succeeding them (fulfilling tasks is already happening).
  • Let everybody work on the scrum board so everybody helps with making the planning etc. Not everybody pays that much attention at scrumming while this is important for the whole group, that everybody understands it and know what’s happening. The ScrumMaster can’t do and know everything on his own, so he expects that the team will assist him with that.
  •  To take care of that everybody has the same perception of the concept we have to be sure that everybody is involved when there are changes in the concept.

After consulting the group, I made a few personas which are the image of our target group. I did this to make our target group clear. Thanks to this, our target group is more described.

Feedback Demo Sprint 2

Today we had a Demo from Sprint 2 for our product owner Boris Slaghuis.

In the presentation, we told everyone what research we did and what we tested. We have also shown our style sheet and 3D model of our installation.

We agreed with the teachers that we are a little bit behind on the schedule.

Teachers feedback:

  • no target group and sponsors yet
  • we have to do more technical things
  • we must already have prototypes and tests
  • we must have a more detailed vision

Design & Prototyping:   Need more work (efficiently) on prototype and design

This presentation and opinions received after it is something we can work on for the next weeks.  It is going to be a lot of work.

We have to go to the more technical parts of the project, find the sponsor and the target group. I think that everyone will be mobilized, it should be good.

Getting some information for our planets – Festivals

We came up with the idea that the planets of our installation would represent festivals.
We are not sure yet, but I did some research about festivals in Enschede.
I was surprised because I didn’t expect that there were so many of them.

Below are a few of them:

Freshtival Enschede  

When

Het Rutbeek is the location of Freshtival 

During Whitsun weekend, Freshtival transforms the magical Recreatiepark Het Rutbeek into a colorful, colorful and enchanting place where friends come together to toast to their mini vacation and… let go of the party animal. 

D’RAN19 Festival 

D’RAN 19 festival is 17-18.05 in Roombeek in Enschede.  

Kingsnight Festival 

Kingsnight Festival Enschede is the King’s Night celebration of the Eastern Netherlands. Multiple areas, the entrance is free and for all ages.  

Location: the University of Twente in Enschede. 

GOGBOT Festival 

GOGBOT festival is since 2004 the annual showcase of 4 long days and nights with creative technology, electronic music, and contemporary art. Its mission is to provide an inspiring platform for the most original, visionary and avant-garde artists currently working in their fields. The festival offers a stimulating rendezvous for artists, professionals, and the audience, and intends to create sonic space for innovation in digital creativity. 

Green Vibrations Festival 

Green Vibrations moved from its humble beginnings as a party organized by students at the campus of the University of Twente in Enschede, to a well-organized festival with 3,000 visitors and multiple stages. Its blend of live acts, DJs, performance arts and beautiful decorations have evolved naturally over the course of its existence, making Green Vibrations a truly unique festival with its own distinct identity. The festival boasts four stages and an afterparty with styles as diverse as techno, psytrance, reggae, rock, indie, drum ‘n’ bass, trap and hip hop.

Green Vibrations has a connecting and social function for the many volunteers, returning visitors and local musicians and artists. The festival has a strong local bond, but also attracts visitors from the region and far beyond.

Before designing our planets we need some information about the musical institutions in Enschede.
I looked some of them up and put a small description so we can start choosing planets and start designing them.

Prototype Testing

We tested the paper prototype. It didn’t go as well as we hoped. We should have practised doing the drum sounds. We mimicked the sounds the drum module will make with our mounths and looped it using an app. This was the part where we need some practice. We did get some useful feedback from our test subject however. We will use this feedback for our second prototype and for our final installation as well.
